  • TX Series – Raising the bar on Success +

    September 17, 2012

This September Nissan Forklift will launch the new, improved version of the TX Series. The 48 volt electric trucks have always been known for their reliability, ergonomics, productivity and safety. Delivery of the trucks will start in September 2012 and will be available in both a 4-wheeler and a compact 3-wheeler version. Read more

With a clean, updated design, the new TX series forklift trucks fit with the dynamic look and feel of the Nissan Forklift electric family. These improvements stretch beyond just the exterior look, with drastically increased acceleration and additional features. This is due to the introduction of two AC 7.1 KW motors. Each of them monitored by state of the art, IP65 protected, AC controllers to allow for greater versatility and options in the workplace. Providing each operator with a unique experience, the state of the art LCD display can be customised with a number of preset parameters, matching truck performance to the needs and experience of the operator. These settings can be safeguarded with a four-digit PIN code, preventing unauthorised access to the truck.

The Nissan Forklift AC TECH controller offers a productive, reliable and cost-effective truck operation. With the real time Energy Consumption Indicator the operator can aim to be more economic with their working time. The optional Load Weight Indicator shows the weight on the forks which helps to prevent the occurrence of overloads. No additional weighing device and procedure is needed. The Auto Tilt Levelling option, available with both the mechanical standard and electric fingertip hydraulic controls, supports the driver when stacking at higher lift heights. This prevents damage to the cargo and speeds up loading time. For increased manoeuvrability in those narrow areas, the sensitivity and
acceleration feedback have also been improved on the trucks' drive performance. Offering the most efficient way to exchange batteries, both the TX3 and TX4 models have the option of roller beds, resulting in minimum downtime between recharges.

Further supporting the forklift operator, a number of ergonomic and space saving features allows for more freedom and comfort in the cabin. In the standard model, an overhead guard of 2.11 m provides generous headroom while for loading and unloading activities in tighter areas an optional low overhead guard of 1.98 m is available An optional high comfort seat with multi-adjustable settings increases the driver's comfort extraordinarily. The Steering Synchroniser for both the TX3 and TX4 ensures that the position of the steering wheel is unchanged before and after taking a turn. This, together with the position of the hydraulic control levers, provides the driver's arms with the most support and avoids stress while operating the truck. The driver can fully concentrate on driving and working and productivity is increased again.

Nissan Forklift has always focused on providing the best access to all maintenance and service parts to reduce the life cycle cost, and reduce maintenance downtime. Reliable AC TECH components, with more durable parts and improved protection against water, dust, humidity and corrosive gas, increase working time. While on board diagnostic systems allow easy troubleshooting for any issues that may arise in the busy workplace. In support of this, the 1200 hrs maintenance intervals, maintenance free wet type brakes and the AC TECH controller ensure the maintenance costs are kept to a minimum and the trucks' high productivity potential is enhanced.

The new TX 48 Volt - AC TECH series has been designed to incorporate Nissan's Risk Reduction System and complies completely with the latest European machinery directive 2006/42/EC. The standard Risk Reduction System (RRS) contains (amongst others) a Mast Lock system which automatically prevents the mast from being lowered and tilted when the operator has left the seat. Other safety features in the RRS include Turn Control, Lift Control, Rollback Control and Inhibitor Control. Next to its productivity advantage the optional Auto Tilt Leveling control brings the forks to a horizontal position enabling the driver to safely position the forks to the load at higher lift heights. The logical positioning of the pedals and levers helps the driver to concentrate on operating the truck, and with the optional 3V
OPTIVIEW mast the driver has a clear view through the mast. Nissan Forklift's clear vision cabin also means the working environment is always in view of the driver.

    Nissan Forklift are dedicated to providing its customers with the most versatile trucks available and so offer a number of optional choices that can be supplied from the factory;

    - Side shifts and fork positioners.
    - The 'clear-vision' cabin is offered from factory for both the TX3 and TX4 models.
    - Light packages
    - Various tyre types
    - Various masts to over 7.0 meters lift height
    - In addition to the standard overhead guard, a drive-in racking overhead guard is also available.

  • Nissan Forklift awarded UK Forklift Manufacturer 2012 +

    June 20, 2012

Nissan Forklift has been awarded UK Forklift Manufacturer 2012 by the Institute of Transport Management (ITM), Birmingham, UK. We earned this award for outstanding contribution to the materials handling sector Read more

In the warehousing and logistics industry, the right equipment is vitally important. Using machinery that enhances efficiency, reliability and speed is a must, as is strict adherence to safety regulations. Taking all this into consideration, the Institute of Transport Management is delighted to announce the presentation of its UK Forklift Manufacturer 2012 award to Nissan Forkliftfor its outstanding contribution to the materials handling sector.

Nissan is strongly associated with high quality automotive and commercial vehicle manufacture. However, within the transport industry, it also enjoys an excellent global reputation for our forklifts. Nissan first began production in 1957, building on the expertise gained from the production of cars. Supported by strong sales since its establishment, the Nissan Forklift division is now a formidable presence worldwide, with production bases in Spain, Sweden, Japan, and the United States and sales networks in more than 75 countries.

    Structured to meet local needs

Despite Nissan's international reach, Nissan Forklift places a strong emphasis on representation, component sourcing and service provision at local level to better meet the particular needs of clients in each area. Committed to customer satisfaction, it has designed forklifts to meet a diverse range of customer requirements - no cookie cutter manufacturing here. Each Nissan Forklift factory has its own engineering department, which cooperates closely with the development centre in Japan. This approach combines the advantages of regional orientation with the impressive technological knowledge available within the Nissan Motor Company and has resulted in some great innovations. These include safety features such as an outer-chain wide-view mast and operational features like single-lever operations and fuzzy logic control of battery vehicles.

Designed with end users in mind

And Nissan Forklift pays more than just lip service to continual development. For example, last year saw the introduction of the completely newly designed RG Series Reach truck range. During the development process, many truck operators and logistic managers were interviewed, while scientific studies regarding truck ergonomics and repetitive strain injuries were undertaken. This information was married to Nissan's know-how, and the new RG Series was born.

Customer-centric, Nissan offers industry-leading operator comfort and safety with its hands-free direction control and the optimal placement of the LCD display and keyboard. The operator compartment is multi-adjustable, while the specially shaped seat backrest offers an easy switch between looking left and right. Other features include the slide down and tilt-back function, which supports the operator while working at high lifting heights, a unique mini steering wheel in the armrest and an ergonomically designed joystick that offers up to nine different mast related functions.

    Technically advanced

It is also a performance giant. The Nissan Forklift AC TECH controller offers a productive, reliable and cost-effective truck operation. With this advanced technology, all options are open, including automatic horizontal fork levelling, side shift centering, load weight indication and double deep storage. The unique Level Assistance System or Level Selector helps the operator to go to pre-set lifting heights in the racking by the push of a button. The manoeuvrability of the truck in small aisles is also amongst the market's best, as is its efficiency - it has driving speeds up to 14.5 km/h and lift speeds of up to 700 mm/s.

    According to the ITM:

"Nissan Forklift has a fine and deserved reputation for excellence and its extensive range of vehicles for the warehousing and logistics sector is second to none. As well as this, its product lines are backed up with an excellent spare parts and service system, so customers really do receive a lifetime of quality performance. We at the Institute are delighted to present the award forUK Forklift Manufacturer 2012to Nissan Forklift and look forward to witnessing the further successes of the company over the coming years."
